For my eagle project I decided to renovate the Glenkirk Garden which is located in the back of the school. My brother and I both attended Glenkirk Elementary School so this is a special place for our family. The garden was not very old at the time but had been neglected so I decided to help out and make the garden as best as it could be. After talking to the school principal I figured out what would be best for the students.
After spending many months of planning and going to see different companies and individuals for donations I was able to exceed my original goal in funds which enabled me to add more to the project. It was all made possible by the help of Troop 671 scouts, cub scouts, and all other family friends who joined to make this project possible. In total, over 80 people showed up to really put their own touches on this garden. I was able to re-mulch the walking trails, wash the donation bricks, add six different birdhouse, clean up all the garden beds, add a few new tress, and add a new outdoor sitting area so the teachers have a place outdoors for class. We also redid the flag area in the front of the school and painted around 20 cable holders to be used as tables. Now students have a great option for recess and teachers can utilize being outdoors more often. Thank you,
